Nigerian fintech company Flutterwave has announced it has been integrated with Alipay, making it possible for it and its merchants to potentially reach over a billion people.
The company attributed the feat to objective from its inception.
“We’ve set out to provide the complete payment solution for Africans to thrive in the global economy. The complete payment solution would first require interconnectivity within Africa, then connectivity from Africa to the world,” Flutterwave stated.
Already, Flutterwave’s footprints are in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda and Ghana. Having achieved these, the company said it decided to connect Africa to the world.
“We started with the U.S already but you can’t connect Africa to the world without China. Flutterwave is now integrated with Alipay so this gives all Flutterwave merchants access to over 1 billion Alipay users. Alipay is available in addition to card, Barter, Mobile Money and other payment channels on the Rave checkout modal,” the company stated
