A few US and Australian users have observed Twitter developing a new Status feature. Thanks to the new capability, which is currently being developed, Twitter users will be able to categorize their tweets into one of several predetermined categories. According to Twitter, the company is momentarily testing the functionality on the microblogging website. Users reportedly aren’t allowed to use their own status emoticons. Using phrases from a set of prewritten labels, users may publish updates using Facebook’s prior status update feature.
Users of Twitter have started include the new Status feature in their tweets, and one user even provided some screenshots to show how it appears. There is a collection of predefined labels that include an emoji and a brief explanation. A Thread, Hot Take, Vacation Mode, Soon, and Travelling are just a few of these. It’s said that tapping a predefined status would display further tweets that include the same phrases, similar to how hashtags work on the site and on Instagram.
Twitter confirmed to TechCrunch that it is now testing this capability with a small number of users in the US and Australia, but it did not specify how many. In order to provide your followers with more context, we are currently developing a feature that lets you add a status subject from a given list to your Tweets. As a result, whether you are getting ready to drop a hot Tweet thread, sharing ideas in the shower, or having a terrible Monday, your Tweets may better communicate what you are doing.
