TeamApt rebrands as Moniepoint to help African businesses grow

TeamApt Inc, a leading business banking fintech platform in Africa, has rebranded to Moniepoint, the name of its main product in a change that aligns the company with a recognisable identity that its existing customers and business owners already trust.

This development was made known in a public statement shared by the company which reads “The Moniepoint brand is already an established and trusted name among its customer base in Nigeria, and adopting it as the name means one less layer between the brand and the people it intends to serve.”

The rebranding is a testament to the Moniepoint’s overall successes and reflects the company’s mission to help businesses grow through access to digital payments, credit, and business management tools.

According to the co-founder and CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, the company originally named TeamApt when it started in 2015, as it provided products and financial infrastructure to banks.

“Over the years, we have evolved significantly, and our flagship business banking solution, Moniepoint, has become our core focus and where we see the future,” Tosin said in a statement. “The name Moniepoint which our business is already familiar with, better represents our commitment to providing our businesses with an all-in-one platform that they can use to access banking services, payments, credits, and business management tools that they can use to grow and succeed in their endeavours.”

“We have become Nigeria’s leading financial service platform for businesses. With this name change, we are making a promise to always be here for businesses they depend on to power their dreams,” he added

Moniepoint has been experienced significant profits since 2020 and is on course to become a Unicorn. The company is supported by leading institutional investors such as QED Investors, Novastar, Lightrock, BII, FMO, Global Ventures, Endeavour Catalyst, and New Voices Fund.

Despite its huge successes in the Fintech space, the company continues to expand its arms in all fronts and as part of its ambition to become “an employer of choice, not just in Africa, but globally,” Moniepoint will be relocating its headquarters to London although the company has no plans to offer services in the UK market.

Moreover, Moniepoint plans to expand into East and North Africa by identifying large markets where millions of businesses are currently underserved.

With the rebrand, Moniepoint’s goal is to expand its influence and support companies in growing beyond their current capabilities.
